We were at the Amr Diab concert in Atlantic City, NJ at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino arena on March 11, 2006. I hear you about it being a sell-out, that giant theater was packed with 5,000 screaming fans! I heard that there were even scalpers on the Atlantic City boardwalk that were selling Amr Diab tickets for $800.00 a piece that is how popular he is. Who ever heard of concert ticket scalpers for an Arabic show in the US? Amazing. This concert started a bit earlier than 8:30 PM and we saw every second of it. It opened with an incredible and very polished Raks Sharki Egyptian belly dance performance by the incomparable beauty Soraya. After Soraya belly danced (the crowd went wild for her too chanting her name), the lovely Lebanese ladies of the Four Cats took to the stage. They did a great job and the audience enjoyed them very much. They were all pretty too like a classy Arabic version of The Pussycat Dolls only more family oriented and covered. After the two opening acts, the prince of Arabic music took to the stage and sang for over two hours. Amr Diab looked incredibly handsome and sang all of his beloved hits and his new songs as well. It was the concert of the century in my opinion! Thank you for a great show.
