Brand endorsements bring major money

Brand endorsement has picked up momentum among marketers in the region during the past years, and amounts to millions of dollars in exchange between corporates and individuals.

Industry experts believe contract fees have soared up above a million dollars for a campaign, almost ranging between $1.5m and $3.5m (Dh5.5m and Dh12.8m), taking into consideration the calibre of celebrities and the duration of the campaign.

Egyptian singer, Amr Diab who appeared with three Hollywood stars for a Pepsi campaign a couple of years ago, said he received $3.2m for the endorsement, while Elissa is said to be making more than a million dollars for her tie up with Samsung. Bottom line, firms are investing huge amounts for hiring the right celebrities.
