and I almost flew to Turkey!! Punked!

Well, of course it would have been nice to be in Turkey, but get THIS ...

Amr Diab’s name used for fraud

An arts and concert company has been found guilty of fraud, scamming thousands of Turkish Amr Diab fans. The company advertised for three concerts to be held by Egyptian singer Amr Diab in Turkey, scheduled to take place in Istanbul, Anatolia, and Ankara.

When fans began buying tickets, for which prices reached up to 50 US dollars a piece, they discovered after it was too late that Amr will not be holding any concerts, and in fact never made any agreement with the said company.

The shocking discovery placed the company in a tight spot, especially since it had falsely advertised for the concerts in newspapers and on local television, making them promise to refund the audience. In reality it failed to do so.

Amr will release his upcoming album on July 22, 2005. He has been working on the album since the start of the year.

Amr has not revealed any details regarding his new release; neither the title nor the names of the 11 songs included on the album. The singer has collaborated with a number of prominent composers, and sought the assistance of music distributor Fahed, husband of Egyptian singer Angham.
