Happy New Year - for rich fans only!

BEIRUT: Although many of the famous clubs urged partygoers to book in advance, even raising prices as December 31 approached, there are still tickets available for the famed decadent Lebanese extravaganzas.

For those eager to ring in the New Year in the vicinity of a bonafide celebrity, and unimpressed by the hefty $1,005 ticket, there’s the Eau De Vie restaurant in the Phoenicia Intercontinental Hotel where Lebanon’s own pop siren Nancy Ajram will be performing.

Martyrs’ Square, which will be undoubtedly glammed up for the occasion, will be graced with the presence of the pop stars Amr Diab and Melissa, with tickets ranging from $400 to $2,000. Link

Deals and concerts

Besides his preparations to launch his own academy Egyptian Megastar Amr Diab is currently negotiating a new endorsement deal with a well known mobile company. His new attempts come after the end of his five year contract with Pepsi Co. which chose not to renew his contract and signed with Tamer Hosni, a much younger artist apparently!

On the other hand, Amr is also getting ready to celebrate New Year in a live concert scheduled to be held in Beirut city alongside Lebanese pop sensation Melissa. The concert is organized by Dilara Production for its owner Jean Saliba (Melissa’s manager) and is set to take place in a large stadium in downtown Beirut.
