Porto Marina next month

Egyptian singer Amr Diab is getting ready for his annual concert in Porto Marina in the north coast of Egypt on July 13. Diab will sing his old and contemporary hits at the concert, such as “Hallah Hallah,” “Two Moons,” I Can’t,” “If You Love Me,” “Always With You,” “She Smiles,” “When I See You,” “Forget the Past,” “Tonight,” and “Indescribable.”

Diab has lately launched “Amr Daib’s Academy” that discovers talented youth in music. An outstanding singer will sing with him in the next New Year’s concert. Link

Egyptian superstar Amr Diab has launched an online campaign to find an unknown to duet with him live. The singer has posted on YouTube and Facebook about his talent 'academy', hoping to find a co-singer for his New Year's Eve celebrations.

Hopefuls have been posting up videos for his consideration in their thousands but Amr says he will only decide based on who has the best singing voice. The so-called 'Father of Meditteranean Music' follows in the footsteps of popular talent shows like Arab Idol and Arabs Got Talent in his search.   Link

Amr Diab keeps presidential choice a secret

Egyptian superstar Amr Diab has sent out a message to all his fans through his official page on the internet social network Facebook saying that he will not reveal which Egyptian presidential candidate he will vote for. Amr wrote on his social networks pages on Facebook and Twitter, “I did not announced the presidential candidate I will vote for and all that has been circulating on Facebook and Twitter on my behalf with regards to this matter is not true.” According to the internet website MBC.net, Amr stated that he did not want to announce he will vote for in order not to influence others by his decision.

Amr’s social networks pages have given great emphasis on the Egyptian Presidential Elections and the singer had sent out requests to all Egyptians to take an active part in the election process so to have their voices heard. The singer stressed that everyone must vote in this historical election and chose the right candidate to lead the country.
