Marina 2010 review

More than 70,000 Amr Diab fans attended his Marina concert; his biggest annual event. The concert was held in Marina Porto Golf on Friday, 30th of July.

Diab arrived early, however he topped the stage at 12 am. Episodes from (El-Helm) programme - that tells the story of Diab's life - were played.

The stage was of no less than 10 meters wide, surrounded by 6 giant screens so that the audience can see the stage from everywhere. The stage was decorated with disco balls of different sizes similar to those on the (Aslaha Btefrea') poster.

The concert began while Diab was backstage. A video was played on the giant screens for his most important works. The video ended with a shot from Diab's second mineral water advertisement. These shots prepared the audience for the real thing. The audience went crazy the moment they say Diab onstage, and the screaming went on for more than five minutes. Diab started the concert with his new song (Aslaha Btefrea') with 11 violinists from his band. (Aslaha Btefrea') is Diab's first Single ever.

A funny thing happened when Diab started singing (Raseef Nemra Khamsa); when he sang (We Atfal Agayez Fi Mahd El-Tofoula we Aflam Adeema we E'lan Cacola), the audience replied (E'lan Mayya), so Diab laughed heartily. He then went on to sing (Nendam A'l Eshra El-Ghalya), (Tamaly Maak), (Nour El-Ein) and (El-Foraa' Dah Nar). The concert's first part continued for more than two hours. It was followed by a break during which Diab changed into a black T-shirt.

Diab started the second part of the concert by emphasizing to his audience that he follows their comments on the official website, telling them that he knows they request new songs in the concerts, so he'll try to sing as much different songs as possible. He then started singing (Aslaha Btefrea') with a remix, Hekayat, We Heyya Amla Eih, Ah Ba'ed El-Layali, Osad Einy, Maa'k Begadd.

Diab then introduced composer Amr Mustafa to the audience, saying that he is the most important composer in Egypt now. For his part, Mustafa described Amr Diab as his (Mentor). They then sang together parts of the songs they worked together on like (Khalast Feek Koll El-Kalam, We Yelomouny, Aweddouny, and Khod Alby).

At the end, Diab hummed one of his rare and first songs along with the audience; (Betghany Lemeen Ya Hamam) from the album (Ghanni Men Albak).

Diab then surprised his audience b telling them that his new album will be released by next Al-Adha Feast, by the end of 2010. He added saying that the album will feature two songs written and composed by talented youth from those who applied to Amr Diab Talent Academy. Diab then thanked the audience, and sang (Aslaha Btefrea') for one last time, after three and a half hours of singing.  Link
